Sports Report - January 15th

An update on the sports action from last week.

Netball
The First Team travelled to Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield and secured a comfortable 43-20 victory. Then on Saturday, the Lancaster teams and Under 14s played the Abraham Darby Academy.  The Under 14s were too strong for Abraham Darby's Under 16s, winning 51-2 and the Under 13s and Under 12s A and B teams all won. Thalia Stavrou, Clarkson Lower Sixth was selected to play for the Wasps Under 19 squad in London on Saturday.  And the Firsts are playing in Dulwich, London in the last 16 of the Independent Schools Netball Cup, good luck! 

Basketball
?The team played Adams' Grammar School on Thursday.  In the final Quarter they came from 7 points down to level the game and send it into overtime, where they lost out. A valiant effort, well done boys.

Fencing
The team were in action against Shrewsbury School on Saturday. In the ?Sabre competition, the score was Wrekin 7, Shrewsbury 9 and in the Foil, Wrekin 9 and Shrewsbury 7. The result was a draw.

House Matches
The postponed House matches from last term were played on Saturday morning.  Many spectators were treated to some excellent spirited performances in both rugby and hockey. In the Girls' Senior Hockey match, Roslyn came out worthy winners. The Boys Senior Rugby went to Tudor, and the Junior to York.  The captains of the winning hockey and rugby teams collected their cups from the Headmaster in Chapel on Monday.
