Robin Guo (Bayley, Fifth Form), from Fujian province in Eastern China, spent his Christmas break painting this scroll. Holding Grade 6 - the highest accolade in Chinese calligraphy - Robin was taught by his father from an early age.
The poem on the scroll can be translated as follows:
"Boundless and bare, desert sands gleam like snow; Like a curved sword hangs the Yan Mountain moon. When will the fine, gold-harness'd war horse soon on the crisp Autumn plains galloping go?” (Tang Dynasty Poet, Li He).
