The quality of IT provision at The Old Hall is another strength of the School’s offering. In IT lessons, pupils explore and utilise a wide variety of software on equipment which is regularly updated. Touch typing is taught, and encouraged, and a variety of cross-curricular opportunities enable the children to use the internet to support their learning. However, we recognise that Computer Science is also important, so due consideration is given to ensuring the children’s basic understanding of how computers work and they are also engaged in basic programming and coding as part of their learning.
Our pupils’ digital literacy has been enhanced by the recent introduction of iPad technology into the classroom. This investment in technology provides another example of how the School aims to be at the forefront of modern approaches to teaching and learning.
The school communicates with parents electronically and teachers utilise a wide variety of technology in their teaching, with the aim of enhancing their work and maximising pupils’ learning opportunities and experiences.
