'Pupils achieve at high levels in the Duke of Edinburgh's Awardscheme (DofE); all enter for the bronze award and a substantial number for the size of the school achieve the gold award before they leave'

ISI Educational Quality Inspection 2017

In the Fourth Form (Year 10), most pupils join the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme at Bronze level, and many progress to the Silver and Gold levels. Success at these higher levels represents a significant personal achievement, valued by universities and employers, and and we are very proud that Wrekin’s completion rate at all levels of the scheme is substantially above the national average.

Recent Duke of Edinburgh expeditions have taken pupils to Caer Caradoc, the Long Mynd, Dartmoor and many other destinations. Our pupils also put thousands of hours into community work, ranging from helping disabled children to kick-starting the school’s recycling and environmental policy.
