FRIENDS OF OLD HALL
The Friends Association began way back in the late eighties, formed by the Chairman of Governors, the late and much missed John Adams, from a suggestion made by the Headmaster. In the years since its foundation, it has achieved a truly remarkable set of targets, enabling the school to enrich its broad educational provision almost beyond belief.

The purpose of the Friends Association is, perhaps, two-fold. It exists partly as a means of bringing families together in a spirit of friendship via a wide range of social events, and very importantly, it works tirelessly to raise funds for equipment and facilities that lie beyond those that can be supplied through the normal school budget. Many things that new parents understandably take for granted have actually only been made possible by the efforts of The Friends Association. For example, our lovely grand piano, or our amazing interactive white boards..... the list could go on to fill the page! The Friends have funded a class set of 18 laptop computers to enable all subject teachers to use them if and when appropriate. The cost of these is staggering - about £10,000 for machines and £3,500 for the software to make them work.

The Association itself has grown from that first small, enthusiastic committee to its present thriving dedicated group of parents - over 20 of whom serve on the committee - who help to organize and/or give their support to the events that take place throughout the year. If you can support the Association in any way at all, please do not be shy: contact any committee member if you would like to be involved. If you do not have the time to serve on the committee, you may just be able to help at a given function: such help is always gratefully received.
